The network

What is PacketStream?
PacketStream is a peer-to-peer residential proxy network. Real users around the globe (“Packeters”) run the desktop app, and businesses route traffic through those household connections with country targeting.
How does PacketStream benefit customers?
Customers can collect public web data through residential connections, request country-targeted exits, and choose rotating or sticky session behavior. This is useful when data varies by location or data-center routes are frequently blocked.
What can I use the proxies for?
Common legitimate workloads include ecommerce price and availability monitoring, market research, travel fare comparison, public web data collection, ad verification, localized search tracking, brand monitoring, content localization QA, and website testing.
How much does proxy access cost?
$1.00 per GB, metered, with a $50 minimum purchase and no subscription. Purchased balance does not expire. Credit cards and PayPal are the public payment methods; bank transfer may be approved for larger purchases. See pricing for details.
How do I connect?
Use proxy.packetstream.io with username/password authentication. HTTPS on port 31111 is recommended, SOCKS5 is available on port 31113, and HTTP is available on port 31112 for compatibility. See the integration documentation.
How do rotating and sticky sessions behave?
Automatic rotation selects a residential exit for each new proxy connection. For continuity, append _session-YOURID to your auth key to keep the same exit for up to 60 minutes. If its Packeter disconnects, the sticky session fails.
How does country targeting work?
Append a two-letter ISO country code to your auth key, such as AUTH_KEY_country-US. If no exit is available in the requested country, the request fails rather than falling back to another location.
Can I request trial credits?
Yes — submit the trial request form or email support with your use case. Support reviews each request; both approval and the amount of credit are discretionary.
Can I request a refund?
Contact support within 24 hours of purchase to request a refund of your remaining account balance.
When is support available?
Our human support team monitors requests around the clock, but response times vary and are not guaranteed.

Sharing bandwidth

What are the advantages of sharing my bandwidth?
Becoming a Packeter lets you accrue $0.10 per GB of customer traffic routed through your connection, before cashout fees. Sharing occurs while the desktop app is running, and you can stop or uninstall it at any time.
Why am I getting paid as a Packeter?
Your shared bandwidth powers the residential proxy network that businesses pay to use. Your compensation is your share for contributing to the availability and diversity of the network.
How do Packeter payouts work?
You can request a cashout once your balance reaches $5. Payouts are sent in USD through PayPal and processed within one week. PacketStream deducts a 3% cashout fee, and PayPal may apply additional fees depending on your account and country.
Does the Packeter client require router configuration?
No. The client requires no inbound ports or port forwarding.
What can proxy customers see about a Packeter?
Proxy customers see only the residential exit IP and its approximate geography.
Will sharing slow down my connection?
The Packeter app transfers customer traffic through your internet connection while it is running, so it uses some of your available capacity. Stop the app whenever you need to end sharing.
How do I stop sharing?
Stop or uninstall the app at any time to end sharing. The Packeter desktop app supports Windows, macOS, and Linux; mobile sharing is not currently supported.

Reselling

What is the white-label Reseller API?
It lets you offer residential proxy services entirely under your own brand. No PacketStream branding is exposed to your end customers.
Why should I consider becoming a reseller?
It’s a fast way to expand your offerings without building or maintaining proxy infrastructure. Wholesale rates start at $1.00/GB with a $500 minimum purchase. Automated tools handle account setup, usage metering, and billing hooks.
Who supports reseller customers?
The reseller handles support for its end customers. PacketStream provides support directly to the reseller.
How do I get started as a reseller?
Contact sales or email [email protected] with a bit about your business and we’ll get you provisioned.
