ISP Proxy
An ISP proxy uses an IP address registered to a consumer internet provider while the proxy endpoint runs on server infrastructure. It combines an ISP-associated network identity with the stability and uptime expected from a hosted server.
ISP proxies are also called static residential proxies. Unlike peer-provided residential exits, they are generally not tied to a household device that may connect and disconnect. A client can often retain one address for a longer period, which suits sessions that need a stable network identity. The address may look residential in registration data, but routing records, behavior, and other signals can still reveal how traffic is being generated.
This category sits between conventional datacenter and residential proxy models. A datacenter proxy uses an address registered to a hosting or cloud network. An ISP proxy uses an address registered to a consumer ISP but hosts it in a datacenter environment. The autonomous system number and related registration data help services classify both kinds of address.
Temporary IP continuity does not turn a peer-provided residential exit into an ISP proxy. The static residential proxies page describes that sticky-session approach.
