Install the app

Sign up, then open the Download page in your dashboard. Install the app, or copy the Linux install command, and sign in.

Route traffic

While it is running, the app routes traffic through your internet connection and credits the metered bandwidth to your balance.

Track credited traffic

When traffic routes through your connection, every gigabyte adds $0.10 to the balance shown in your dashboard. Traffic from PacketStream’s own services earns the same rate.

Windows 10 or newer. Download the app from the Download page in your dashboard.

macOS

macOS 14 or newer. Download the app from the Download page in your dashboard.

Linux

Copy the one-line install command from your dashboard and run it in a terminal. It needs Docker 24 or newer. If you already run the older PacketStream Docker container, the same command upgrades it.

Android

Android 8.0 or newer. Download the app from your dashboard, or scan the QR code there with your phone. It is a direct download, not from the Play Store.

App controls

You decide when it runs.

  • One device per connection. Only one device can share from each public IP address.
  • No router configuration. The client requires no inbound ports or port forwarding.
  • Stop any time. Stop or uninstall the app whenever you want to end sharing. On Android, tap Stop sharing in the app or Stop in its notification.
  • Limited visibility. Proxy customers see only your exit IP and approximate geography.

Why am I getting paid?
Businesses pay to route traffic through PacketStream’s residential network. That network is made of Packeters like you — your compensation is your share for keeping the network diverse and available.
How do payouts work?
Request a cashout after your balance reaches $5. PacketStream sends payouts in USD through PayPal and processes them within one week. A 3% PacketStream cashout fee applies; PayPal may deduct additional fees depending on your account and country.
Where do I get the app?
From the Download page in your dashboard. Our download page lists what each device needs and how to check that a download is real.
Do I need to configure my router?
No. The Packeter client requires no inbound ports or port forwarding.
Can I share from more than one device?
Only one device can share from each public IP address. If two devices use the same internet connection, only one of them shares at a time.
What can proxy customers see about me?
Proxy customers see only the residential exit IP and its approximate geography.
Is it safe to share my connection?
Proxy customers see only your exit IP and its approximate geography. The app needs no open ports, and you can stop it at any time. Read Is PacketStream safe? for what passes through your connection and the rules customers agree to.
Will it slow down my internet?
The app transfers traffic through your internet connection while it is running, so it uses some of your available capacity. Stop the app whenever you need to end sharing.
How do I stop sharing?
Stop or uninstall the app whenever you want to end sharing. On Android, tap Stop sharing in the app or Stop in its notification. Closing the app does not stop sharing. Start it again later if you want to return.
